Terra Natura Zoo in Benidormwelcomes 5 new members to the park, a family of 5 Bengal tigers from a zoo in France.
The family, father, mother and three, 7 month old cubs, arrived at the park as part partnership that Terra Natura has with EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria.
The head of the family, named Rajiv is a 7 year old White tiger, born in France. Mum Shana is 6 years old and was also born in France. Both cats had resided in the La Boissiere de Dore Zoo since 2013 but with their growing family they needed more space.
After completing the day long journey from France the tigers have settled in and are in perfect health. The arrival of new animals to the park is always stressful and staff never quite know how each animal will react to their new home but the tigers have adapted well and despite the cold have even bathed in the water in their enclosure.
